Dudley Advocacy 2018

Dudley Advocacy was established in 1995 and became a charity in 1997. The organisation supports, through advocacy, independent decision making by upholding human rights and championing the empowerment of vulnerable people. It supports those in care, those with dementia, people with severe physical and mental health challenges and complex needs – those that do not have the capability to exercise their rights.

Of the 5,000 people in Dudley with learning disabilities, only 1,000 receive statutory advocacy. Dudley Advocacy gives a voice to all of those that need help.

Dudley Advocacy support both statutory and non-statutory advocacy in the following areas:

  • Independent Mental Care advocacy (IMCA)
  • Parents advocacy
  • Generic advocacy
  • Care act mental health
